Hello there! Today is Friday the Thirteenth! My name is Andrew Alexis Varvel and I am running as an independent candidate for the North Dakota House of Representatives in District 47. I would like to derive the legitimacy of my candidacy not in partisan endorsement, but rather from the signatures of the people of District 47 which comprises northwestern Bismarck. This would mean that at least three hundred people want me on the ballot so the people of District 47 can decide in the general election whether they want me to serve the people of my district.
My main political color is yellow. This contrasts with red for Republicans and Communists, blue for Democrats and Chinese Nationalists, and connotations for other political colors. Yellow is associated with liberalism and social democracy in Europe, and advocacy for democracy in East Asia. In the United States, it is historically associated with the Gasden "Don't Tread On Me" flag and women's suffrage.
