18

Over the last few weeks, I have been focused on what every independent candidate must do to get on the November 3 general election ballot for the North Dakota House of Representatives – collecting a sufficient number of signatures.

18 is the number of signatures I collected last Saturday.

14 is the number of signatures I collected yesterday.

10 is the number of signatures I collected today.

I get these signatures by knocking on doors and asking people to sign a petition to get me on the ballot. One person at a time.

42 signatures over three days may not sound like a lot, but it brings me closer to the minimum of 300 signatures I am required by North Dakota to collect to get on the ballot for the North Dakota House of Representatives. And 18 signatures is my single day “high score.”

So, 18 signatures on a single day is an achievement.
